Update on Assault Case of KCCA Deputy PRO

Police at Old Kampala are actively investigating a case of assault that took place on the 9th, November 2020.
The attack was directed at Kampala Capital City Authority staff Robert Kalumba.
He is the deputy spokesperson for KCCA.
He had gone to a scheduled meeting with the management of St Balikudembe Market on the new market guildlines that were announced by HE the President.

He was, however, attacked by a group of youths and assaulted him.
Police responded very fast and they rescued Kalumba.
He was then rushed to the hospital and is still currently receiving treatment after he sustained serious injuries.
Old Kampala Police is yet to make arrests of the people who were involved in the gruesome act. Statements have been taken from Kalumba and witnesses.
Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
We also want to pass a strong warning to groups that have made it a habit to attack government officials while excuting their lawful duties that they will be arrested and prosecuted.
