A total of 370 accidents occurred during this period and out of these 72 accidents were fatal, 193 were serious and 105 were minor.

Victims

There were 362 accident victims during this period and out of these 86 people died and 276 sustained injuries.

The season of schools breaking off for holidays is usually characterized by increased movement of persons and increased volume of traffic on the roads.

All road users should expect heavy traffic on the roads and are advised to plan their journeys early to avoid rushing and reckless driving since most of them will be moving almost at the same time.

Schools with school vans should ensure that their drivers drive responsibly, avoid making so many trips, loading excess children on board and not to rush the students when offloading their luggage to avoid misplacements or losing them.

PSVs are reminded to board from designated parks in order to ensure safe travel of leaners back from their respective schools, they should stick on their route charts, avoid reckless driving on the roads, and not to rush the students when boarding off the vehicles.

Boda boda riders are reminded to ride carefully while transporting students from schools to avoid road accidents

The students are reminded to be mindful of their surroundings at all times and to cross the roads at safe designated points to avoid accidents on our roads.

The Easter season is on and we remind all road users to drive responsibly.

 All drivers are reminded not to drink and drive, avoid speeding, ensuring that only competent drivers are on the road.

By checking of their driver’s license all drivers are reminded to drive on roads with a copy of a valid driving license.

Inspection of vehicles to ascertain their road worthiness should be done and all drivers are reminded to avoid driving vehicles which are in a dangerous mechanical condition on the roads.

Boda bodas are reminded to ride carefully to avoid accidents during this festive season.
