Police Recovers 48 Illegal Guns the Year 2017

The Uganda police has shared achievements and challenges reached during the recently climaxed year in 2017

Speaking to the media this morning, the police spokesperson SSP Emilian Kayima said that flying squad during the year of 2017 recovered 48 illegal guns, 524 rounds of ammunition in various operations around the country.

Through different operations they recovered 30 AK47 GUNS, 6 SARs, 6 Pistols,2 LMG/ PK, 1 SKS, 2 Pump actions among others.

He added that some of the recovered guns had police and UPDF markings, though some had been traced to neighboring countries like the democratic republic of Congo.

Police has also sent a special warning to those venturing in illegal activities to surrender themselves and desist from the act before they are picked.

“I want to assure you that our intelligence is now bigger and better than never before. Whoever thinks will continue pursuing illegal acts in 2018, and then he or she needs to get prepared to face the law because we are going to arrest them”. Kayima said
