POLICE INVESTIGATING 5 INCIDENTS OF DISAPPEARANCE OF PERSONS (TWO HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED AS KIDNAPS FOR RANSOM)

The Territorial police in KMP East and Naggalama division are actively investigating an incident of disappearance of Biyinzika Hope, a 3 year old, female juvenile and baby class pupil at Skyluck Junior school, Namaliri village in Mukono district. The victim left school for home on the 22.09.2023 at around 1pm, and was all by herself, as her parents were in the garden. A serious search was made but all in vain. The matter was reported and inquiries continue. Later the parents received a phone call on telephone number 0774974708 demanding for a ransom of Ugx 2.6m, within 24 hours.

Another kidnap for ransom, was registered under Ssezibwa region and Kayunga police, after a one Nsubuga Shafik Ssesanga, a 2 year old, male juvenile, who disappeared on the 19.09.2023 at around 8pm, from Nakimbi village, Kangulumira town council. In Kayunga district.

Several radio announcement were made later on, suspects behind telephone contacts 0786-066269 and 0756-527205, called the mother, demanding for a ransom of Ugx 2m, for the release of the victim.

Again on the 22.09.2023 at around 4am, the suspect called the father of the victim and directed him to Kayunga town, opposite Equity bank, where he had dropped the clothes of the victim in a black polythene bag and threatened to kill the victim, if by 11am, if they failed to sent the money.

Another case of disappearance was registered, in Kasokoso under Kiira division, after a one Olajo Henry Kanyubi, a 14 year old, pupil of Kampala City Parents School, in P7 and a resident of Kasokoso Namugongo division, in Kira Municipality. The victim who had gone to buy charcoal for his mother, Burungi Margret, at around 7pm and never returned.

The phone he was carrying was switched off at around 6:20pm, after beeping the mother.

Another case of disappearance was registered on the 18.09.2023 at around 8:50am, by Kisakye Maria, a 24 year old, resident of Kiwumu village, Buloba parish Wakiso, where her sister Mirembe Christopher, aged 15 and a senior two student at Buloba High School, in Buloba village, disappeared on the 17.09.2023, at around 7am from Kuwumu village. The victim disappeared after she was told to prepare, to go back to school. She was complaining of headache and promised to go for medical checkup.
