Police hunts for assailants

On Saturday night, unidentified assailants strangled to death Yvonne Ssali, 37 years of Gwafu cell, Gooma division, Mukono district.
The deceased had for over 18 years been sharing a house with her mother and her son. On Thursday, the mother left for Nsambya hospital to visit a patient. The son is on boarding school programmme. The deceased remained at home alone but kept in contact with the mother. On the fateful day at about 10:00pm, the deceased and her mother talked on phone. When the mother returned home from Nsambya hospital the next day (Sunday), she discovered that the daughter was dead inside the house.

The area defense secretary informed the police. The scene was immediately visited by the scene of crime officers and the area police. The body was taken to Mulago hospital for postmortem.

The Inspector General of police Gen. Kale Kayihura has today visited the family of the deceased at their home at Gwafu cell to offer support in tracking down the assailants.
