Police Health Services Launch Youth Friendly Day to Empower Youths

In line with its vision of “A healthy and productive Uganda Police that contributes to National Development,” the Directorate of Police Health Services has announced the launch of the Youth Friendly Day.

The initiative was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Dr. Byogero Olivia, who is in charge of Administration and Trainings. The Youth Friendly Day will take place every Thursday at Nsambya Police Health Centre IV.

During the launch, Dr. Byogero Olivia explained the rationale behind introducing the youth-friendly day and emphasized its importance.

The services offered on this day will include HIV counseling and testing, STI management, family planning, behavior and behavioral change, discussions on sex and sexuality, career guidance, and youth empowerment initiatives focused on community health.

Dr. Byogero Olivia commended the youth for their participation in the launch and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the medical personnel who organized the event. She highlighted that the day served as an open discussion platform for the youth and medical practitioners.

This initiative is part of the Community Policing approach and aims to actively involve the youth around the health center in community work while providing them with career guidance and empowerment opportunities.

The Youth Friendly Day seeks to empower and support young individuals, fostering their well-being and contributing to their personal and professional growth.
