Kasangati Police recovers suspected stolen Number plates

The Police at Kasangati are holding three suspects on allegations of theft of Vehicle Number plates.

This follows the arrest of Zziwa Herbert on 18/5/22 at about 2 am after he was caught red-handed stealing number plates from a motor vehicle UBJ 313J Toyota hiace.

The suspect was interrogated, he later revealed his accomplices identified as Musisi Bosco, 26 and Gizamba Muhamad, 24, both residents of Busiika trading centre.

Today 19th May 2022, the two suspects were arrested from Busiika and a search has been conducted in their respective homes where several items of evidence were recovered.

These include Simcards, mobile phones and boxes with telephone contacts for their alleged victims.

The duo also led Police to various places within Busukuma sub county and Gayaza where various stolen number plates were recovered.

They are currently detained at Kasangati Police station. The case file will be submitted to the Resident State Attorney tomorrow for advice.
