The joint security forces have conducted a successful operation against armed criminal cells at Nakabale and Lokorok trading centers in Kotido District.
On 29 Dec 2022, at around 1530Hrs, an intelligence-led operation by joint security forces disrupted armed cattle rustlers who were planning to go and raid animals in Kaabong District.
As a result, fruitful recoveries and arrests were made as follows:
(1) At Lokorok trading center, one prime male adult suspect by the name of *Kokoi Limakori* was arrested.
Two guns and 24 rounds of ammunition were recovered from his house with the following descriptions;-
(a) SMG Reg number UG 1817(bolt carrier ) with 24 rounds of ammunitions.
(b) SMG No 04421(bolt carrier) with 10 rounds of ammunitions.
(c) 04 pairs of digital uniforms recovered
(d) 01 pair of jungle boot also recovered.
(2) At Nakabale trading center, 24 other suspects were arrested and taken to 405 Bde headquarters for further investigations, while one warrior was injured in the confrontation and was taken to Kotido Health centre.
Based on our intelligence and community cooperation, similar operations will continue as and when required in order to further break criminal cells, maintain security and peace in Karamoja.
