In a special way, the same office would like to appreciate all the Police officers attached to the  Regions in their respective ranks and positions, for the great job well done before, during and after elections. From the districts of Pakwach up to Adjumani, the exercise was successful and ended peacefully. Even in the hotly contested districts of Koboko and Adjumani where violence was anticipated, the exercise went on peacefully and appreciation goes to the unit Commanders plus their staffs, aspirants and the electorates.

The minor issues and interference’s reported to police were handled on time as others were forwarded to the rightful offices for further management. However, those with complains or petitions sighting some irregularities are urged to approach the rightful offices for investigation and proper management of their issues. Since elections are not yet over, the same spirit should be exhibited in the coming elections for the seats of LC V and mayors as well as the General one.

The Uganda police force therefore remains non partisan pro-people force, who are committed to performing their duties as enshrined under article 212 of the constitution of Uganda professionally, and cooperate with the various political actors and stakeholders in West Nile/North West Nile regions to ensure peace and security throughout the period of elections.
