8 SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN TWO SEPARATE CASES OF TORTURE AND MURDER

The territorial police in Greater Masaka and Kyotera district have in custody two suspects for the aggravated torture and murder of a 13 year old male juvenile, identified as Jjuuko Patrick, whom they accused of theft of money on Kagambo’s farm, at Kidda LC1 village Kabira sub county in Kyotera district on the 24.09.2023. The suspects led by Tabatina Frank, tortured the victim at the farm, and thereafter, dragged him to Kasambya trading centre, where they further tortured him. The victims condition worsened and he was rushed to God is Able Clinic, where he died the following day of 25.09.2023, due to internal bleeding. The two suspects in custody include; Kamugisha Godfrey and Kamia Muhammad. Efforts are in place, to have Tabatina Frank the ring leader arrested.

In a separate development, the territorial police in Rwizi region and Rwampara CPS, have in custody 6 suspects, who tortured and murdered Tuhirwe Moses, a 48 year old peasant, of Mwizi – Kabura town council in Rwampala district. The victim on the 25.09.2023, at around 10pm, had a fight with Mucunguzi Joash, and they were separated. Out of anger, Mucunguzi Joash, mobilised his friends and went looking for the victim at his home, but did not find him. They however, met him on the way, tortured and inflicted 3 deep wounds on his forehead, which led to his death. They dumped his body in a banana plantation. The 6 suspects include; Mucunguzi Joash, 18, Kiiza Ssebastiano, 30, Ahimbisibwe Augustine, 37, Kainerugaba Ronald, 19, Benda Christopher, 22 and Kwikiriza Victor, 17.

We wish to inform the public that torture is a punishable crime and can lead to murder. We urge the public to avoid such acts of lawlessness and impunity by observing rule of law. We remain committed to pursuing all incidents of torture and murder, and ensure all perpetrators responsible are brought to book.
