Uganda Police Passes Out 73 Officers

The Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Jeje odongo has today passed out 73 senior officers at the Police senior command and staff college Bwebaja.

Students have graduated with an intermediate command and staff course certificate. The course has lasted for six months.
The officers were from the Uganda police force, Uganda prisons service , Somali police service and South Sudan police.
In his address, the Hon. minister encouraged the graduands to lead by example .

Gen. Jeje also thanked the IGP for his cultural brotherhood in training of the forces which helps in a cross coordination exercise.
In addition, the Minister applauded the IGP for the community policing element and advised the graduands to practice this tool for the management of society as a tool of policing.

He also cautioned students to use the knowledge acquired to shine in their places of work “you are now candles don’t go back to your stations and cover it up ,training is the source of knowledge to perform very well”. Show the difference and be better police officers.

In his remarks, the IGP paid tribute to the great efforts played by the late AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi towards the development of Uganda police and in particular the police college.

Further more, he advised officers not to rush into quick Accumulation of Wealth. Kayihura said there is a tendency by police commanders to accumulate wealth mostly  through fraudulent ways.

“The most criticism from the public is that these officers are competing to have wealth quickly, “IGP said.
“Many of you have been accused of accumulating wealth but in indecent ways.”

He advised that the officers should focus on working and serving the force and country at large that in the end they are rewarded abundantly.

“Seek the kingdom of service and your country will cater for you.”

He urged  commanders to act professional and be men of integrity.
