Exams start peacefully
Uganda Certificate of Examination (UCE) which started yesterday have progressed peacefully except for some places like Mityana where there were delays in starting.
However, the Director of Booma High school in Mbarara Municipality was arrested by the police yesterday, for failing to register 14 of the 26 students expected to sit for U.C.E exams. The students were briefed to sit the exams, unsuspecting that they had not been registered with UNEB on realizing that they may have to repeat S.4 next year, the students went on strike and police officers from Mbarara police station moved in to calm them down and investigate the cause of there dissatisfaction.
Robert Musinguzi the director has been charged and will be taken to count for obtaining money by false pretence.
The Uganda police force continues to assure the public of improved security service during the examination period and the period after that.
The police also urge the public to report all incident of crime, include exam malpractices.
