FRAUDSTER APPREHENDED

Bamakure Ceasar from Rwanda working as an accountant with a bank in Rwanda was on 31/08/09 arrested by police and detained at wandegeya police station after being found with counterfeit dollars, chemicals and apparatus used to wash fake dollars to convert them into genuine Us dollars along Gaddafi road. The suspect revealed to us that he has contacts both here in Kampala and Kigali. He revealed that after his clearing mission, he intended to return with these fake dollars to be used in his bank in Kigali. He is helping us with investigations to net his contacts. The suspect will appear in court to answer charges of being in possession of counterfeits.

PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALL FAN DIES.

Businaye Musa , a well known MAN-U fan and resident of Lusira  kisenyi zone, a timber dealer along port bell Butabika junction, after the football match between Arsenal and Manchester united rushed to a small bar in mambo bado zone and took an over doze of Enguli in jubilation of victory of his club which killed him instantly. Relatives were called in and picked his dead body to his residence in kisenyi and was buried yesterday in kakiri.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED.

Tumwine Ahmed works with assister agency and was justified for work else where but was arrested from kyegera armed with AK 47 with 25 rounds of ammunitions properly with a matching order. He was in company of others like; Kato Hussein, Ssali Henry and Kasawuli Siray. They had parked near Kyegera police post extorting money from the people they had arrested. The alert police officer moved closer after he suspected some crime in the motor vehicle, ordered the occupants to open. He arrested them, and ordered the driver to drive to kyengera police post. They were moving in motor vehicle Reg. no. UAK 984H and search, Tumwine Ahmed had an AK47 with 25 rounds which he had signed for official duty. The suspects have been charged with robbery and are to appear in court.

RIFLE NO. K 427647 MODEL SAR RECOVERED.

The above mentioned rifle was robbed from one Aweru Charles attached to detailed protection services who was guarding at Engen petrol station along Sir Apollo Kagwa road (Maker ere kikoni) after being stabbed in the arm with a sharp object before disarming him.
Old Kampala and wandegeya police station worked tirelessly hard to recover the rifle on 15/08/09 with the operations commander of detailed security services who disarmed them when he got information that the place they were guarding was robbed of 250000 and airtime worth 1,500000 million the guards were just sleeping in the generator house instead of guarding.

SATELITE PHONE RECOVERED AT ENTEBBE.

One satellite phone and 800 US dollars that were robbed from three Pakistan’s Nationals has been recovered. The police has already arrested one suspect will help in the investigations. This happened in Kitugiru, green field in Entebbe.

ONE DIES, 2 SAVED FROM A STONE QUARRY.

Katusime Barbra a female juvenile aged 8 years died a collapsed quarry while three of her family members were rescued by police. Namayanja Alice aged 40 and her three daughters were working in a stone quarry at Kabulegwa zone, Nansana Wakiso district when they were buried by the rubble. The three rescued are Katusime Susan aged 10; Kyosimire Jessica aged six and there mother Alice. The rescued were rushed to the hospital for medical check up.

SIX NOTORRUS ROBBERS ROUNDED.

Six notorious robbers have been rounded up by police while on there robbery mission. They include Ngobi Robert aged 30, from kabowa Rubaga; Mwesiga Fred aged 32, a conductor along Luzira rout and a resident of Nansana zone 3, segawa Deo aged 32 a resident of kabowa, Ndayambeze Martin aged 47 a resident of salama road, Nanyogozi zone, Kafero Ronald aged 30 of kitintale zone 12, Nakawa division and kalyango Isma aged 28 a resident of Kibuli kakungulu zone Makindye division. They had organized to rob over one billion shillings from Sayuni Brothers and company, between 1800/c-0000/c. police got information and organized a successful operation commanded by the DPC Kabala gala Walugembe. Police learnt that the robbers had connived with one security guard who was to chloroform other guards in exchange for the payment of 4million.They were all arrested with house breaking implements, chloroformed food ,powdered chloroform and mixed chloroform in a bottle. They are detained at Kabalagala police station and are to be produced in court to answer charges of attempted robbery.

Ten suspects have been arrested with possession of opium and suspected stolen properties worth million of shillings. In a joint security operation out of public outcry in Nanette, Kyengera, Nanfuka and Northern bypass, the suspects who have been terrorizing the public are to face the law

SPECIAL HIRE DRIVER ARRESTED.

A special hire driver has been arrested by police for stealing 7000 Euros, 3.2 millions Uganda shillings and unspecified amount of dollars from kabira country club. Kansime Godfrey aged 27 was arrested by police crime intelligence officers who were on official duty in the club. He is to appear in court to the face charges of theft.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE-SERIAL THUG ARRESTED

On 14/08/2009 between 6:00-6:30 pm Kansiime Godfrey male adult aged 27, a special hire driver at caltex-Nakivubo went to Kabira country club in his motor vehicle number UAB 107J corona white in color. He paid for entrance as the practice, he went to the swimming pool area but he did not swim. He pretended to be making endless calls which made the security guards suspicious and they began monitoring him .He went to his vehicle which he had strategically parked near another motor vehicle number UAD 251 X , land cruiser of one Kironde Nsubuga Arthur, he opened Kironde’s vehicle and removed a bag. He was arrested with this bag in his vehicle and in the bag there was 7000 euros, unspecified amount of dollars, 3.2million Uganda shillings and other documents,. Our plain cloth personnel arrested him and took him to Kira road Police station.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
KAMPALA 14/08/2009

There was attempted robbery to SAYUNI BROTHER AND CO. opposite American Embassy on Friday 14/08/2009, police received intelligence that robbery was being organized in the above place between 06:00pm-0100 am and that the chief planner had acquired new phone and line. This place is guarded by two local security guards of the company and other two attached to Tight Security Company. Police learnt that the operation was to in three phases namely;

1. Phase one was to involve chlorophoming of the two internal security guards by promise of 4million shs.
2. Phase two was to be the real robbery of the 1 Billion shs.
3. Phase three was to involve the arrival of taxi UAJ 491V, white in co lour to ferry the loot.

They had a stand by vehicle parked in Nsambya and its no. plate has not been yet identified but it is UAM with its no. ending with J black in co lour and make of primo kikumi.
In an operation commanded by newly appointed no nonsense DPC Kabala gala Mr. Walugembe. The robbers were picked/ arrested like grasshoppers one after the other on arrival at their target.
  

LT MUHANGIRWOHA ROBERT ATTACKED BY ARMED ROBBERS
KAMPALA 09/08/2009

LT Muhangirwoha Robert age 47, a UPDF soldier attached to Bombo general headquarters and a resident of Bukoto was attacked by 3 thugs, 2 of whom were armed with pistols when he had just moved out of his vehicle number TCD 180 EAC Toyota land cruiser VX.

One of the thugs first greeted him in Kiswahili before others came and bounded into the vehicle.Thet sat on him and covered his face with his shirt and tied his hands before driving off to a swamp between Nsangi and Buloba where they tied him on a tree, they robbed his motorvehicle, army ID, AAR card, unspecified sum of money and two nokia phones. The victim of this robbery managed to free himself, crawled to some place where he was directed to Nsangi police post where he made a report.

All this occurred on Sunday 09/08/2009 at around midnight and the case was reported on the SD reference number 02/08/08/09 and police is tracing for the robbers and the motor vehicle.

POLICE IMPERSONATOR NETTED

A man who has been impersonating as a police officer has been arrested. Tunamukye John age 29 was arrested while interfering with the enforcement of discipline and order with traffic flow by traffic personnel.

He went ahead and claimed to be a police officer to be attached to PSU (Professional Standard Unit) which is responsible to enforce discipline and professionalism in the Uganda Police Force.

He is to be produced before court for obstructing police in carrying out its work.

SECURITY GUARD ARRESTED SELLING AMMUNITIONS.

Chemonges Rak a security guard of security plus with headquarters at Bugolobi was arrested by the chairman Bukasa zone in makindye division selling four rounds of live ammunitions of SAR. It was on 06/08/09 at around 10:00/c at muyenga Bukasa quarry when the suspect approached one Bog ere  swaibu ssali who works in a stone quarry and told him that he wants to get a buyer to buy the ammunitions. So ssali alerted the L.c 1 chairman who arrested the guard immediately. Four rounds of ammunitions and rifle no. 13326081 were recovered and exhibited. The suspect is to be handed over to Rapid Response Unit for further interrogations.

POLICE KILLS UNIDENTIFIED THUG.

On 02/08/09 at around 300/c at high light education centre Gayanza road, police intercepted thugs at sekati who had stolen Umeme transformer and had loaded the same transformer on an Isuzu Elfu UAK 483C. The thugs after realizing they had been cornered /surrounded tried to drive away. As hoot out ensued between the police and the thugs and hence forcing the thugs to scatter abandoning the loot and the motor vehicle. A search was mounted and at sekati village near sekanyori on Gayanza road, one un identified thug believed to be a broker at taper rune stage was killed in the shoot out.
Police traced the dropping oil for about 3 km and located the place where the transformer was stolen, recovered the transformer, motor vehicle, pairs of pliers used for cutting the wires connecting the transformer and Nokia phone of the deceased. One suspect arrested A twine Christopher the driver of motor vehicle UAK 483C Isuzu Elf being held at kawempe police station and inquiries are still going on.

INDIAN CONMAN ARRESTED

Its alleged that one Gaurang Patel Denesh, working with sudir as a security guard claimed to be a staff with the Bank of Uganda  as technical director together with his accomplice one only known as lameck. They duped ochato martin working with ministry of defense that would help him secure a dollar at a cheaper price. This excited the complainant and on 16/06/09, the suspect Gaurang patel denesh obtained money by false pretence amounting to thirteen million shillings (13m). The complainant handed this amount to the India in presence of one Lameck and the suspect promised to send the dollars in the evening. But in steady of sending the said dollars, the suspect with his accomplice sealed pieces of papers in a box and delivered them to Ochato by Lameck.
The two suspects switched off their phones since then and have been on the run. The Indian was arrested on a tip off on Saturday 01/08/09 at Speke Resort munyonyo and is detained at old Kampala police station. He is to appear in court on charges of obtaining money by false pretence.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM.

Police is holding one Chemonges Rak, male adult aged 30 years for selling ammunitions. Chemonges, a private security guard with security plus was arrested on Bogere Swaibu Ssali. Swaib reported to the local chairman who tipped the police and he was arrested immediately. He is to be produced in court and charged with unlawful possession of fire arms under the fire arms Act.
