UGANDA POLICE FORCE

The Directorate consists of the following Departments:

• Department of Information Technology and Information Management
• Department of Communications
• Department of Electronic Counter Measures
• Department of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
• Department of ICT Maintenance

Roles of the Directorate:

• Develop ICT policies for the UPF
• Provide advisory support services on ICT matters in UPF.
• Liaise with the ministry of ICT to align with the overall ICT strategy and master plan.
• Identify and recommend ICT equipment and other related services.
• Ensure effective management of ICT equipments and systems.
• Ensures effective management of integrated and computerized processes within the Force.
• Develop and establish linkages and compatibility with other stakeholders (Immigrations, URA, Prisons, INTERPOL etc).
• Develop a unified ICT platform that can be interloped with other security agencies.
• Ensure accessibility, authenticity, confidentiality and integrity of UPF data/ information of UPF.
• Develop and implement concrete ICT approaches and mechanisms for technical assistance towards regional and International integration.
