An engine boat this morning at around 10:00am capsized between Kiziru and Bulago Islands. The boat was carrying over 30 people.
It is believed to have been on its way from Zingora on Koome Islands to Ggaba landing site. 13 people are still suspected to be missing while others including the captain have been rescued by the area police and police marines and rushed to hospital for immediate treatment.
The accident is believed to have been as a result of overloading combined with bad weather.
The police calls for cooperation from the public and we would like to assure the families of the missing persons that the police is doing everything possible to ensure that they are found.
The police will continue to give updates on this accident as they unfold.
