FORGERY SUSPECT ARRESTED.
Kampala, 06/07/09
Police in Wandegeya is holding Semaganda Henry for obtaining money by false pretence, conspiring to commit a felony, uttering false document and forgery.
The suspect went to one Kimeza who wanted to sell his land located in Luwero. In their discussion, Semanganda agreed to buy it at 32 million. He paid him 2.5 million and requested for the land title to verify its authenticity in ministry of lands which Kimeza accepted.
Semaganda instead went to forge an identity card in the names of Kimeza but with Bukombis photo. He used this one as the owner of the land and sold it to a one Obei of Ntinda at 17 million. He is to appear in court on those four courts.

POLICE ARRESTS A RACKET INVOLVED IN FORGERY AND OTHER CRIMES.
Kampala, 07/07/09

The Police Rapid Response Unit has arrested Namaganda Josephine real names Kemitavu Grace in racket with other men Sekasambwa Joseph, Mpinde Drake and Wasswa who have been forging log books for motor vehicles and motorcycles, academic transcripts from Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Nkumba University and Uganda Revenue Authority original receipts. They were arrested at city house Kampala with exhibits, printing machines, Uganda Revenue Authority official stamp, log boobs for motor vehicles, log book logo among others.
They have been using these fake log books as security to get money from money lenders. These will be produced in court to answer several charges. Investigations are on and the search for other suspects is on.

 

COUNTERFEIT DEALER ARRESTED
Kampala 14/07/09

Police on 13/07/09 arrested one Kayemba Emmanuel a resident of Kuwanga Mawofo near Namamve Cocoa cola plant has been making counterfeit cement in a hide out in a brick making kirombe after Namamve coca cola plant. He would put a mixture of soil and ash and put in a bag. He would sprinkle some cement on the sides and on top and he seals.
On the 12/07/09 at around 1000/c he, hired motor vehicle UAE 142N Toyota Sahara white in colour from Kireka. He drove towards Bukerere where he found Mbazira Farouk (complainant) at his site.
He duped him that he had run out of fuel and was there fore selling eight bags each at 20,000 which the complainant accepted.
When Mbazira Farouk opened the cement to use it for building a few hours later, he found a mixture of soil, ash and some sprinkles of cement. He rushed and opened a case at Seeta Police post. The suspect was arrested immediately with exhibits and charged with being in possession of counterfeit and obtaining money by false pretence.

SERIAL M/V THIEF APPREHENDED
Kampala,17/07/09

Tumwesigye Eric a renowned motor vehicle thief ran out of luck and finally was arrested by police. It’s alleged that the suspect who is a resident of Nyanama church zone, Rubaga division on 30/05/09 at kimath, Avenue hired m/v UAL 428V Toyota Corona from Seki and paid him 600000 for 10 days and he sold the it to Mwesigya at 6.2 million.
He again convinced Sseki for another m/v UAM 098A Toyota premo white in colour and paid him 80000. He sold this one at Magamaga Jinja at 8 million. He went ahead and hired another one from Kuberu Sam, a premo Toyota blue in colour at Lumumba Avenue paid 500000.
He also sold it at 4 million in Jinja. He would sell these m/vs. with forged log books. He was arrested and charged at central police station Kampala for stealing motor vehicle C/S 254 and 265 of Penal Code Act.

2 STUDENTS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO KISUBI HIGH SCHOOL FIRE.
Kampala, 19/07/09.

The two, Okello Andrew and Kizito Pius both senior six students of Kisubi High School were on 19/07/09 arrested in connection to the fire that burnt Kisubi High School.
The suspect were heard by fellow students asking what one gets if he/she mixes coffee spirit and chrolophom. In a short time (internal) fire broke out under the bed of one student Komakech. When their phones were checked, an SMS message was discovered when Kizito was asking Okello to buy these chemicals from Uchumi super market. Other communication indicates these were planning and doing Laboratory tests so it’s believed this combination set the fire and when students poured water to extinguish it, it became wild. The two are to appear in court in Entebbe today afternoon.

2 ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF CASH AND MALICIOUS DAMAGE
Kampala,29/07/09.
Police in katwe is holding one Walusimbi Geoffrey and Sekanyyo Abdul on charges of malicious damage, theft of money worth 13 million and other property and Assault of Mzee Salongo, Wasswa Joseph, Salongo Nalumoso Paul and Nanyalo Alikisa.
Its alleged that Kakwenzire came with court orders of vacant possession of land. He came with court bailiffs, layers (Belgana Patrick and co. advocates) early morning of Friday 17/07/09 at around 5:30a.m.
The suspects with others still at large demolished the structure, assaulted the people and also stole their cash 13 million and other property. Suspects are to appear in Makindye court this afternoon.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY OF CRANE BANK
Kampala, 31/07/09
Wangala Daniel who was deployed to guard at the bank together with three others still at large had information that there was over 500 million shillings and over 600 US dollars.
They therefore organized a robbery on the bank but were prevented by one Ogwang Imat a security guard with securex who was guarding the opposite premises. Ogwang saw them breaking the main outer door to the banking hall and got concerned and put them at gun point. Three suspects managed to escape because they knew his gun was faulty but Police managed to corner one protectorate SPC guard Wangala David. Police also recovered one pump action rifle no. 913417 without ammunitions, radio communication Motorola GP 340, two gas cylinders, one metallic bar of a bout one meter, a spanner with a sharpened end, and three gloves. The hunt for the other suspects is on and when inquiries are complete, the suspects will appear in court to answer charges of attempted robbery.
